Chris Mawdsley, Head of Media Strategy at BBC North, has worked in media planning for over 20 years now, working his way via a number of roles in advertising agencies to his current job at the BBC.

Media is all around us and Chris’ job is to understand who consumes these channels and to put advertising for channels like Radio One and BBC Three in the right places to get audiences watching or listening. It’s a job that requires a genuine interest in media, good communication skills and an interest in human behaviour. In this 1 hour Discovery Workshop session, Chris will give you an insight into his career journey, routes into the role discussing career pathways and employability skills for a career in Media Planning and Buying.
