Work experiences or insight days tailored to school(s) in a specific region and delivered virtually through Google Meets. 

During these placements, employers will give you an insight into what it is like to work in their industry with the opportunity to take part in projects, meetings and meet industry professionals.

Employers will be offering work experience placements to young people aged 14-19.

All About Construction for SEND students – Willmott Dixon

This session will give students an overview of the construction sector including:-

  • An insight into Willmott Dixon
  • What jobs are out there
  • A virtual site tour
  • A quiz
  • A look at some of our projects
  • Question and Answer session

Teachers please email if you would like your students to take part and we will send out a form for you complete on behalf of your students.

Please note –
Students may be in this placement with students from other schools and as this is a virtual placement, we do require that teachers are on hand to support students.

Chocolate Product Design Experience – Mondelez

Do you want to work with chocolate?
We take you behind the scenes to show you how we develop brand new chocolate products in the heart of Bournville.
You’ll get to experience the Product Development Process by creating your very own chocolate bar
To do this you’ll work together with all sorts of people with different skills and career types including;
  • Product Design
  • Process Engineering
  • Consumer Science
  • Packaging Design
  • Sales & marketing
  • You’ll see what it’s like to work within R&D and how these different teams pull together.
And if you can show us that you’ve enjoyed your week and learned something new, there’s a certificate for your CV too.

During this week long virtual placement you will learn –
  • Where good ideas come from, how to create product prototypes and test them with consumers
  • How to put a new product idea onto an existing production line if it’s made a different way
  • How to create exciting packaging designs
  • How to sell products to consumers with traditional and digital advertising plus in-store promotions
  • The importance of health, nutrition, allergen awareness, sustainability and food safety,
  • What the key employability skills are, and the routes into an exciting career in the food industry
