An Autumn update from S4SNextGen

Autumn 2019 is one of the most exciting terms yet for S4SNextGen.

Speakers for Schools and S4SNextGen welcomed our new chief executive, Jason Elsom, early in the new academic year. Jason joins with a wealth of experience, having held leadership roles in education and technology, and brings his innovative ideas and enthusiasm to the Speakers for Schools team.

Our work experience and insight day programme, S4SNextGen, is growing fast with industry leading organisations such as the Southbank Centre, the Wall Street Journal, ITV, The National Trust, and Disney joining our network of over 100 employers.

Our portfolio of insight days continues to offer unmissable experiences to our students. Technology company SWIFT, in collaboration with S4SNextGen, offered 35 students the opportunity to attend Sibos 2019, the biggest global event in the financial industry, whilst digital collective DIGI-GXL provided a day of workshops on everything from coding to AI to female students.

As part of the Creative Careers Programme, leading creative organisations including the V&A, Endemol Shine and Angel Little Theatre hosted work experience this October to demystify the creative industries and increase access for students with limited networks. S4SNextGen students attended career events with industry professionals offering insights for the prominent sectors and roles.

S4SNextGen has now facilitated over 2000 work experience placements and we are committed to offering even more opportunities to students in 2020.
