Anna Turney

Paralympian

Ambitious, energetic, dedicated! Double Paralympian, Anna Turney competed on the same slopes as Olympic ski racers, without the use of her legs.

Until 2006, Anna aspired to snowboard race for GB but became paralysed in a snowboarding accident. She didn’t let this stop her.

Four years after becoming paralysed on snow, Anna finished 6th in 2010 Vancouver Paralympics and went on to win World Cup Medals and represent GB in Sochi 2014. Limited funding meant Anna had to become a businesswoman, negotiating sponsorship to enable her to achieve her sporting goals.

Anna mentors disengaged young people and runs programmes for ‘NEETS’, changing lives with The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.

“We all have challenges in our lives, it is how we face them that counts!”
