Consultant and Former Chairman, Digital Outdoor Media Group


I Graduated from Kings College London with a Law degree in 1976. Having taken a ‘sabbatical’ year off – arguably the fourth in a row – during which I caddied on the European Golf Tour. Financial demands persuaded me to enter the world of advertising sales, initially in Regional Press and then Outdoor.

During my time within the medium, I had first hand experience of most of the job functions within the industry and went to the then OAA – the trade body for Outdoor – as Operations Director from my previous position of Group Sales Director for Score Outdoor in 2002.

Having worked in Outdoor for in excess of 25 years I have witnessed the tremendous progress of the medium with great satisfaction and great pride and feel that my wide ranging experience has helped me understand the relevant issues within the medium and thereby address them. I also believe that my experience has helped me understand the unique selling points of all other media.

In particular, I was ‘in’ at the beginning of the real growth of the Digital Outdoor sector. As Chairman of the Digital Outdoor Media Group I was in a position to facilitate that growth and to assist in the realisation of the true media value of the sector.

I now work as a consultant, primarily to Local Authorities, where my experience in the medium aims to help the LA’s achieve maximum income from their estate from the Outdoor medium.
