Former CEO of HMRC & Former Head of UK Border Agency and Department of Transport
Lin Homer is the Former Permanent Secretary and Fomer Chief Executive of HM Revenue and Customs, a role she undertook in January 2012. Prior to this she was the Permanent Secretary at the Department for Transport.
Before that, Lin was Chief Executive of the UK Border Agency at the Home Office.
Previously Lin has been Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council (2002-2005) and Chief Executive of Suffolk County Council (1998-2002) and prior to that was Deputy Chief Executive at Hertfordshire County Council.
Lin is a qualified lawyer, and holds a number of NED roles in the charity and third sector including Univesity of Birmingham and Centre for Ageing Better.
Lin is married with three daughters and lives in Suffolk. She supports Ipswich Town Football Club in her spare time and enjoys skiing.
Lin was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the Bath in the January 2016 New Year’s Honours for public services, particularly to public finance.
