David Kershaw was educated at Bedales School and Durham University (BA Hons Politics) before entering advertising as a graduate trainee. He joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 1982 after obtaining an MBA at London Business School. He became Managing Director in 1990 and was made Chairman and Chief Executive of the UK agency in 1994.
In 1995, he left with Charles and Maurice Saatchi, Bill Muirhead and Jeremy Sinclair to found M&C Saatchi. The Company now has 26 offices around the world and is the world’s leading independent network.
When M&C Saatchi was listed in 2004, David was appointment Chief Executive of the plc. He was Chairman of the Advertising Association from 2002–2006 and the Cultural Leadership Programme from 2005-2009 and is currently on the Boards of the Southbank Centre and Clore Leadership Programme.
He is married with two children and his outside interests include playing the clarinet, classical music including opera, golf and Arsenal.
