Deborah Robinson
I am a registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP), now working as a Senior Lecturer and have a Faculty role for Professional External Engagement. I am passionate about my role working in the operating theatre, it is a relatively unknown profession but makes a significance impact to patients care whilst having anaesthetics and surgery. The entry qualification to the HCPC register is a BSc Hons.
My University role has meant that I have been lucky to work with local schools to develop and run Medical Health & Social Care Academy’s; working with pupils to support them into careers in Health & Social Care.
I have a national profile working with the College of Operating Department Practitioners, this lead to working with South Africa to develop their own ODP programme.
