
Dr. Rosalind Polly Blakesley
Reader in Russian and European Art, Pembroke College, University of Cambridge
Dr Rosalind Polly Blakesley is Head of the Department of History of Art at the University of Cambridge, a Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge, and co-director of the Cambridge Courtauld Russian Art Centre. She has curated exhibitions in London, Moscow and Washington DC. She is also a Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery in London, where she curated and wrote the catalogue for the acclaimed exhibition “Russia and the Arts: The Age of Tolstoy and Tchaikovsky” in 2016. She is the author of several books on the Arts and Crafts Movement and on Russian art. The latest of these, “The Russian Canvas: Painting in Imperial Russia 1757-1881”, was awarded the Pushkin House Russian Book Prize in 2017.
