Jess Fowle

Former Creative Director and Founder, True North Productions

Jess is one of the founders and Creative Directors of True North – one of the biggest non-scripted TV companies in the UK.

In a twenty-year career in factual television, Jess has made everything from long running, multi-episode features series to immersive one-off docs.

At True North Jess helps to shape big brands like A New Life in the Sun (Channel 4) , The Pets Factor (CBBC), Say Yes to the Dress: Lancashire (TLC) and Teen Mom UK (MTV). She’s also been responsible for delivering some of the company’s most talked-about one-off documentaries including My Mums Used to Be Men and My Fake Baby.

Working collaboratively with those featured in True North’s programmes, Jess has been at the forefront of forging True North’s reputation for telling sensitive stories with integrity and humanity.

Jess has a particular interest in spotting and developing new production talent and loves working closely with new film-makers to help them make the programmes they are passionate about and with young people to encourage them to find routes into the industry.
