I spent almost three decades as a BBC war correspondent, foreign correspondent and news presenter. During that time, I covered 29 wars and conflicts. I was also a BBC Europe Correspondent covering the European Union. I lived in New York, Paris, Brussels and Frankfurt but travelled all over the world from there covering news stories for the BBC. Since 2011, I have been at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. We work in almost 40 countries helping them to develop their economies and improve people’s lives. We are focussed on the green economy and building private sector solutions to economic development. We are owned by almost 70 governments including the UK. In my private life, I live music and have one of Britain’s biggest vinyl collections. I do a podcast called The Vinyl Countdown. You can find it at vinylcountdown.blubrry.net
