Mark Damazer CBE, Master of St. Peter’s College since October 2010, was Controller of BBC Radio 4 and Radio 7 from 2004 and was previously the BBC’s Deputy Director of News Division, Head of BBC Current Affairs, Head of BBC Political Programmes and Editor of BBC Television News.

Mr Damazer studied at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge and then at Harvard as a Harkness Fellow. He was also a Congressional Fellow in Washington D.C. where he worked for Senator Paul Tsongas.

He is a Trustee of the Victoria and Albert Museum , a former Vice-Chair of the International Press Institute Executive Board and is a Fellow of the Radio Academy. He writes columns and reviews for The Financial Times, The Evening Standard and The Guardian.

His interests include football , opera, painting , the Palio in Siena and baseball.
