Mark Sherwood

VFX Producer


Mark Sherwood began his career at James Garrett and Partners in the late seventies, initially working as an assistant to the Senior Producer, progressing to an Assistant Editor, before leaving the company. For the next five years Mark was as an Assistant Director, working with, among others Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Tears For Fears, The Human League, Queen, Mike Leigh, Ken Russell and Jim Henson.

Mark then joined the Moving Picture Company, in the late 80’s as their Production Manager. After a year he started producing for Gerry Anderson, and became the Post-producer on Space Precinct after his departure. He then moved to The Mill, initially post-producing commercials then was promoted to Facility Director joining the Board, shortly afterwards the company won the Oscar for Gladiator.

Mark then worked with Gerry Anderson again produce The New Captain Scarlet, setting up the EIS, overseeing contractors creating the GC facility at Pinewood Studios, then setting up a new pipeline, recruiting new crew and building own motion capture studio.

From 2005-2007, Mark was in the film department at MPC as a VFX Producer on the Wayans’ Brothers film, Little Man, he also helped to set up the VFX pipeline for Sweeney Todd. Mark went on to work at Red Vision as the VFX Producer on Discovery’s, ‘In the Mind of Stephen Hawking’. Then at Baseblack, on a number of films including Skyfall, Ronin 47, Total Recall and Snow White and the Huntsman. He then joined Pixomondo at the start of 2013 to work on Game of Thrones.

Currently Mark is working at Sky, hoping to start production on a CG short for Channel 4, which is scheduled to go out on Christmas Day 2015. Whilst also trying to produce his own CG Feature – The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse.
