Screenwriter & Executive Producer

Paul was screenwriter and executive producer on SEX & DRUGS & ROCK & ROLL about punk icon Ian Dury starring Andy Serkis, Naomie Harris, and Olivia Williams. It received seven award nominations including two BAFTAs, and featured at the Berlin and Tribeca film festivals. He was nominated for the Writers Guild First Feature Screenplay award.

His film ASHES, starring Ray Winstone and Jim Sturgess, was released in 2012 financed by CinemaNX and Coldplay.

Paul’s latest screenplay, FACE OF AN ANGEL, set for release later this year, stars Kate Beckinsale, Daniel Brühl and Cara Delevingne, and is directed by Michael Winterbottom.

Paul has written two radio plays ‘BLINDED BY SCIENCE,’ and ‘CRY HUNGARY’ aired as part of the Radio 4 series in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Hungarian uprising produced by Toby Swift and nominated for the Imerson Best Play Award.

He recently adapted David Peace’s novel GB84 for Revolution Films and Channel 4 Television.

For Film Four he has written ‘JOE PUBLIC’ – a feature about Joe Strummer of the The Clash, and his disappearance to Paris in 1982.

He and Mat Whitecross are also developing the feature ‘GOING MAD IN HOLLYWOOD’ with Fiesta Productions, about Lindsay Anderson and David Sherwin the writer of ‘IF…’ the first British film to win at Cannes.
