Richard Taylor

Richard Taylor is Chairman of Greenhill & Co. UK, a leading independent investment bank, which he joined in 2020. He was formerly the Chairman of Barclay’s Global Corporate & Investment Banking activities. He joined Barclays in 2011 as head of UK Investment Banking, and was subsequently promoted to run the bank’s Investment Banking Division in Europe and then the division on a global basis.

Richard began his career with Arthur Andersen, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, before moving into investment banking with HSBC. In 2000, he joined Merrill Lynch and worked in a variety of roles including co-heading the German investment banking activities and then head of UK Corporate & Investment Banking.

Richard serves on the Advisory Board of The Sutton Trust, one of the UK’s leading social mobility charities, and the Campaign Board of The Historic Royal Palaces. He was born in London and attended secondary school in Southwark.
