Biography

Simon joined East West Railway Company as Engineering Director in Jun 2020 in order to make the case for re-connecting the railway between Oxford and Cambridge. He previously developed future transport systems at Virgin Hyperloop One in Los Angeles and the Digital Railway Programme at Network Rail; recently he led the development of privately financed transport systems for KBR. Simon started as a British Rail graduate after leaving the University of Nottingham, and followed an unconventional engineering career path, carrying out roles in Engineering Consultancies, R&D companies, London Underground, Highways Agency, The Army, HS2, Nordic governments, and Qatar Transport Authority, amongst others. He’s run three graduate schemes and is a Fellow of the IET.
