Property Acquisition Director, Tesco

Simon joined Tesco in 1995, working in the Property Management, Store Extensions and non-food development fields. In 2007, he was appointed as Acquisitions Director for Convenience & Superstores as the business focused on the rapid expansion of the Express format culminating in 180 store openings in 2010. In March 2011, Simon joined the Group Property Team where he led work on Global blueprints for Acquisitions performance & structures and the strategic tenant partnerships across CE and Asia. In September 2013, he moved to China to take up the role of Chief Operating Officer of our China Property Company and led its integration into a joint venture with China Resources Holdings.

Simon returned to Europe in March 2015 as International Mall Director, with direct accountability for our 419 malls in Europe. He led the divestment of our Property Assets in Poland and reshaped our mall portfolio in Central Europe focusing on Tesco’s core assets, releasing over £600m of value.

Since June 2020, Simon has led the UK team seeking to grow, shape & manage Tesco’s £16bn property portfolio.
