I am reponsible for HSBC’s global economic views. I give talks and presentations all over the world, mostly on the economic inter-relationships between different countries. I am the author of two books, both published by Yale University Press: “When the Money Runs Out: The End of Western Affluence” (2013) and “Losing Control: The Emerging Threats to Western Prosperity”. I have particular knowledge of the emerging world and am keen to emphasise the importance of economic and political history in analysing latest economic developments
