Former secondary school teacher (secondary, biology/science).
Since 2010 – writer and consultant (as Sector 4 Focus) on responsible and sustainable business, clients have included major corporates, SMEs, social enterprises, charities. Author of ‘The Company Citizen’, co-founder of the anti-poverty social enterprise Fair for You.
More recently co-author of both BS8950: Evaluating Social Value (British Standards Institution) and Business Schools and the Public Good for CABS.
‘Responsible business’ includes inclusive economy, climate change, modern slavery, etc.
Author of two plays: ‘Making Allowances’ (on MPs’ expenses, 2010) and PowerPlay (post-Brexit comedy, 2018).
A biography, ‘The Courage to Meddle: the Belief of Frances Perkins’ (US economic policy/history,) was published in 2020.
