Kathrina Mannion, Director of Environmental Policy, BP

Kathrina has worked for nearly two decades in the sustainability field, in both the public and private sector, at the international, national and local level. In her current role, Kathrina advises on environmental policy and, with her team, works to embed sustainability across BP in support of the company’s net zero ambition. Prior to this role, she launched and grew BP’s global Advancing Low Carbon programme which aims to encourage lower carbon actions across the company. In previous BP roles, she has advised on global policy and led on company position development. Before joining BP in 2012, Kathrina worked for ten years in the UK government on a range of environmental national policies and strategies, including on sustainability, natural resources, food security and biodiversity, and was a UK negotiator on a number of UN and EU agreements. Kathrina holds a BSc in Applied Ecology from University College Cork, Ireland and an MSc in Sustainable Environmental Management from the University of Plymouth, UK. She has also guest lectured for many years on conservation policy and sustainability at University of Cambridge, UK. Kathrina is active in BPWIN – a BP network to promote gender equality – and is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion within the working environment.
