Ever wondered what a career in Pathology is all about?
We will take you on a tour around our diagnostic disciplines:
- Microbiology
- Haematology
- Clinical Chemistry
- Histology
- Point of Care Testing
- Toxicology
You will have to opportunity to meet our staff including:
- Medical Lab Assistants (they help the lab to function – making sure data is entered, equipment is maintained and specimens are booked in and discarded correctly)
- Associate Practitioners and Biomedical Scientists (those who do the nut and bolts of diagnostic testing)
- Advanced Practitioners (ours are in Histology and deal with specimen dissection and reporting)
- Clinical Scientists (ours work in toxicology and perform drug screening and help to investigate unexplained deaths)
We would like you to help us solve diagnose a patients’ mystery ailment throughout the day you will follow a patient through each discipline to ultimately come to a diagnosis. You will see how we play our almost unseen but vital part in the patient pathway!
