Jonathan Vaughan

Jonathan is Vice Principal and Director of Music at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. He was formally Director of the National Youth Orchestra and before that, Chairman and playing member of the London Symphony Orchestra.
He studied Double Bass and Piano at the Royal College of Music. As well as performing with many of Britain’s major ensembles and opera companies he has had extensive outreach and one to one teaching experience.
Jonathan is a Fellow of the HEAD and was awarded Fellowship of the Guildhall School in 2018.
He is also a Trustee of the Young Classical Artists Trust and the Mendelssohn & Boise Scholarship Foundations.
He lives in Wiltshire with his wife and three children.
