Philip Yea

Philip Yea is Chairman of Greene King plc, one of the UK’s leading pub and brewing companies. He is also a non-executive director of Vodafone Group Plc, Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc and Computacenter plc.

He has spent over fifteen years in private equity, most recently on a personal basis, but previously at 3i Group plc where he was Chief Executive from 2004 until 2009, and earlier at Investcorp, where his main focus was on the turnaround and performance of portfolio investments. He is the former Finance Director of Diageo plc, the global drinks group formed through the merger of GrandMet and Guinness where he had been Finance Director. As part of his executive responsibilities he has chaired a number of leading private companies including Majid Al Futtaim Properties, Gleneagles Hotel, Guinness World Records, Leica Geosystems and Welcome Break.

Since retiring from full time executive roles he has been active with some of the UK’s leading medical research charities, serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the British Heart Foundation from 2009 to 2015 and is currently an independent trustee of The Francis Crick Institute.
