I am CEO of a radically new kind of science-based technology business. Before that I was Chief Scientist and Global Head of Science at Microsoft. I have held roles as Professor of Biological Computation, University College London, and Professor of Computational Science, University of Oxford. I was scientific adviser to The Chancellor of The Exchequer from 2005-2010. And a Trustee of NESTA (The National Endowment for Science, Technology & The Arts) from 2010-2014. I also wrote an internationally best-selling book called ’10 Billion’ (which started out as a forty-night one-man (me) stage production at the Royal Court Theatre. I am a neuroscientist by training.
