As part of the 2014 Advertising Week Europe, the Advertising Association joined forces with Speakers for Schools. The partnership aimed to:
- Challenge business leaders from the UK’s top agencies, brands and media owners to become speakers to help demystify their industry
- Encourage sector diversity
- Level the playing field for young people.
- Over the course of the campaign and in the subsequent months, the AA had brought in 55 new speakers to the network, enabling even more students to benefit from school talks.
The Guardian supplement (PDF) with the Advertising Association and Speakers for Schools outlines why top execs gave their time to speak in state schools.
This partnership has continued, and in 2015 the AA made another call out to its members to bring even more new speakers into state schools & colleges. Our work with AA speakers continues and more recent talks by members include Debbie Klein.
Each year Speakers for Schools runs a national talk series in state schools on a topic important to both young people and our speakers — to see more themes and talk series over the years see our Campaigns Page.
