This workshop will take students on a journey to discover the Allied Health Professions (AHPs) working in high-pressure environments delivering emergency response and aftercare.
We’ll follow a patient case study, identifying touch points where the patient will receive treatment from specialist AHPs and support workers, for example, those who:
- attend the scene of an emergency and deliver patients to A&E;
- take x-rays to identify and diagnose injury;
- manage the operating theatre environment;
- support recovery and aftercare.
Students will learn about these exciting Allied Health careers and qualification pathways, and hear first hand from a range of AHPs delivery care in emergencies, to tell us:
- How they got into their job.
- What a ‘day in the life’ is like.
- Challenges and highlights of their role.
- Things they wish they knew when they were younger!
Ahead of joining the session, educators will be able to access a resource sheet in the Google Classroom to undertake preliminary or post-workshop activity, enabling students to explore more about the various roles and come up with any questions they might like to pose to our speakers.
