Bringing diversity and inclusion to your early talent pool

Diversity and inclusion are priorities for British Airways, especially amongst their engineers and pilots where they tell us women and people from BAME communities are under-represented.

Over the last three years, British Airways has worked with Speakers for Schools to host hundreds of students through targeted insight days.

We have helped them to find female students near Heathrow, who have never considered careers as pilots and engineers before and want to find out more, as well as running insight days for larger cohorts of students from BAME or social mobility backgrounds who are interested in STEM and want to learn more about futures in engineering.

By leveraging our network of higher than average need schools, they’ve been able to reach a new and diverse group of students and gain access to potential talent they wouldn’t otherwise have been able to find.
