Are you looking for work experience that could lead to a paid apprenticeship with a leading North West employer in the near future?

In the lead up to the launch of our 2022 apprenticeship opportunities we are offering young people in years 11 – 13 from across the North West an exclusive insight in to our business and our fantastic early careers opportunities. Young people who apply must be 16 by September 2022 in order to be eligible to start an apprenticeship with us.

Join us for a 1 day virtual work experience to find out exactly who we are, what we do, and where you could fit in! Gain essential skills and experience that can help you to secure your future career!

This opportunity is specially designed to support young people who may be considering an apprenticeship to explore their options and develop their skills and confidence to secure their perfect role with United Utilities in the near future.

The day will run from 10.00am- 15.00pm and will include a variety of interactive sessions to introduce you to the core of our business, water and wastewater operations.

During the experience you will:

  • Meet our people and find out more about the jobs they do
  • Learn about our apprenticeship opportunities and recruitment process
  • Develop employability skills that will help you in your future career
  • Complete real work based tasks that can be used as examples of your skills and experience at future interviews

United Utilities is a FTSE100 listed company which provides water and wastewater services to seven million people and 300,000 businesses every single day. We operate in the North West of England, providing water all the way from Crewe to Carlisle!

As a business we are responsible for water and wastewater services, this work experience placement will introduce you to how we deliver this, and the roles you could play in our future.

We have opportunities due to go live in February for September start Apprenticeships in the following areas:

  • Process Controller- in Tameside, Salford/Trafford and Southport
  • Process Operator- Bolton/Bury, Liverpool, Tameside
  • Fleet Technician- Trafford
  • Field Service Engineer (Mechanical)- Denton/ South Manchester
  • Tanker Driver- Blackburn
  • Network/ Customer Technician- Blackburn

Placement Notes
