Andrew Butler

Andrew is a barrister of over 20 years’ experience, practising at Tanfield Chambers in London.
After obtaining a II.i in Classics at University College, Oxford, Andrew converted to law and undertook pupillage in London before taking up tenancy in what was then 2nd Floor, Francis Taylor Building. He has since developed a reputable practice in property and commercial work, and is head of Tanfield’s Business and Commercial Group as well as being a member of its Property Group. His cases often involve property damage and insurance claims as well as professional negligence disputes. Andrew has been ranked for many years in the legal directories for Real Estate Litigation.
Andrew is also a qualified mediator and a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Outside work, Andrew is a keen sportsman and in particular is a qualified and active rugby union referee.
