Andy Mariner

Police Officer (Assistant Chief Constable), Essex Police

Andy is an Assistant Chief Constable with Essex Police responsible for Local Policing and Partnerships. This broad role includes being responsible for all the geographical policing teams across Essex, with responsibility for Emergency response, local Criminal Investigation and Rural Policing and Neighbourhood teams. He also oversees the work of volunteers including the Special Constabulary.
He has a 25 year background in policing having worked for the Metropolitan Police for 19 years prior to transferring to Essex Police 6 years ago, whilst in London Andy worked in West, South, Central and North London in a wide variety of largely operational policing roles. Andy was proudly given a National Policing Award in 2022 having been nominated by peers for his work in supporting and mentoring police officers and staff in their development. In his spare time he volunteers as a member of a board of governors for a primary school in Essex. Andy is married and has five children.
