Derek Brewer

Derek Brewer, 54, was the fifteenth Chief Executive & Secretary of MCC. He assumed the role in May 2012 after seven years at the helm of Nottinghamshire CCC.

Brewer graduated from Aston University with a degree in Business Studies in 1981. He had a 24-year career in banking, and was a Regional Director of Corporate and Commercial Banking for the East Midlands at NatWest immediately prior to joining Nottinghamshire in 2005.

Whilst at Nottinghamshire, he chaired Experience Nottinghamshire, the tourism body for the county, and was a board member of One Nottingham, a local strategic partnership focussing on early intervention, with Nottingham City Council.

Brewer played cricket for Warwickshire 2nd XI, represented the British Universities, and captained Berkshire under-19s. He has been an MCC Member since 1976.
