Heather Clark Charrington
Heather Clark Charrington has over 20 years experience in the charity sector in the US and UK.
Heather believes that the arts are essential to every community everywhere, and has a long-held passion in the ability of the arts to inspire, engage, provoke, entertain, create shared experiences, and help us better understand the world around us.
In September 2021, Heather joined Southbank Centre as Director of Audiences where, as a member of the Executive Team, she plays a vital role in shaping the future of the UK’s largest multi-arts centre and setting the strategy to unite the many public touchpoints of the Southbank Centre. Heather leads the marketing, digital, brand and design, media relations, external affairs, visitor experience and ticketing teams.
Prior to this, Heather was Director of Marketing & Communications for English National Ballet for seven years, leading the Marketing, Press and Digital teams of this visionary, ground-breaking company.
Previous posts have included Director of Marketing & Sales for Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Director of Marketing & Communications for the August Wilson Center for African American Culture, Brand Manager for Wildlife Photographer of the Year at London’s Natural History Museum and Director of Marketing for the National Theatre.
As a consultant, Heather has worked with Talawa Theatre Company the UK’s outstanding Black British theatre company, Unicorn Theatre, the UK’s leading theatre for young audiences; IMG Artists, the global leader in performing arts management, tours, festivals and events, working on the Tuscan Sun Festival in Florence, and the Abu Dhabi Festival, and Orange, successfully delivering their partnership with the Tour de France.
Heather also gives her time in voluntary service, serving as a Trustee of Sports Aid, of Shoreditch Town Hall, and member of the International Visiting Committee at Longwood Gardens, Pennsylvania.
