Rupert has enjoyed a lifelong career in marketing, focusing on music from 2004. He trained in major multinational agencies such as Doyle Dane Bernbach, working on brands including Heinz, Procter & Gamble and many others. Then founded his first marketing services business aged 27 and subsequently listed on London’s AIM stockmarket.
In 2012 he was selected as 1 of 25 Entrepreneurs out of 000’s selected for the first Goldman SACHS 10000 Businesses programme.
Took on DIY as bedroom blog in 2004 and has steered it to a global music marketing, media and event company, with the leading independent music title – DIY Magazine – at its core, which now has a 1m+ following around the world.
He heads up the music partnerships and commercial relationships for the DIY media platform delivering marketing solutions for labels, festivals, tour promoters, consumer brands, and music education and industry bodies, with a focus of helping the careers of emerging artists and future music industry aspirants
