Chief Innovation Officer and Co-Founder, The Floow

Dr Sam Chapman is the Senior Vice President of Innovation at The Floow. A company he founded in Sheffield UK to use new technology to better understand risk on the world’s roads. His company has a mission to “make mobility safer, fairer, greener and smarter for everyone” these aims guide development of new innovations, products and services for the global insurance, automotive, fleet and infrastructure sectors. His company has grown to now be now part of a NASDAQ listed group of organisations. The company and Sam’s work has been highlighted extensively in national or global awards including recognition from, HRH Queen Elizabeth, several UK Prime Ministers, leading industry awards, an honorary doctorate and granting of the ‘Made In Sheffield’ hallmark.

Despite these successes Sam’s work has always focused on innovation, technology and data aiming to bring new understanding to the world. His work has helped: discover new species, gained an aerospace patent, pioneered new products, launched Europe’s first Robotaxi, changed international laws, saved many lives, found new ways to minimise pollution and changed mobility in our cities. His work is collaborative working alongside global leading organisations and experts.

As well as Sam’s work in The Floow he holds many other roles. He was appointed the world’s first ‘digital cutler’ helping to represent the wider industries of Hallamshire. Sam also holds roles in the chamber of commerce board as well as various advisory roles for the UK government.
