  • City boss Andrew Law gives £6m to Sheffield University

    Source – Nicola Woolcock, The Times, 3rd February 2021 A hedge fund boss has given almost £6 million to the University of Sheffield, the biggest single donation in its history. Andrew Law, who is also chairman of Speakers for Schools, which arranges prominent visitors to state schools, has given £5.85 million to his alma mater. It will be used to widen access by encouraging teenagers from poorer areas to apply to university and will fund medical research into gene therapy.
